Sad news from the Town Wall Tavern, this fine city centre pub in Bond St. We wish them well for the future. Like many other pubs across the country making the books balance has been a challenging task over the last few years. Let’s hope Stonegate find the correct tenants to carry the mantle of this historic pub that’s been part of many people’s lives over the years. Below are Facebook comments from the pub.

Further facebook post June 25th Hi everyone, we would like to give you all an update as to what's going on. Firstly we are still open! I'm sure you are aware of our intention to leave the Town Wall Tavern however things have not progressed with the transition for a new tenant coming in as expected.In the mean time we have decided to close the kitchen but will continue to trade until we have a clear time frame. We will keep you all posted when we know that. Rest assured though that contrary to rumours the Town Wall will not be closed for good nor will it be knocked down! It will simply be a case of it will be under new ownership. We wish you all the very best and thankyou for your continued support and kind words. Hopefully see you soon
