Campaign for Real Ale

2...14th Saturday December

Saturday 14 December 2019

This is a ramble I had planned to do a couple of years ago, when we were doing our season of railway station walks. I put it off until the Metro reached New Street. Now it has done so, we can get on the metro and enjoy this day out. We meet at Coventry station at 11.15 and catch the 11.27 to Birmingham, arriving at New Street at 11.48. Here we can catch the metro and go straight through to Wolverhampton to the old and familiar GREAT WESTERN. Then I have listed a number of stops on the way back. Most of these pubs are in the 2020 GBG, others are old favourites I would like to revisit for old times sake. No doubt people will have their own favourites, and we are unlikely to get to the Black Eagle at Soho before it closes at 3.00 p.m., so these are just suggestions. I do want to visit the two brewery taps near St Pauls though.
