.Planning Application for new bar in Earlsdon.

Friday 26 March 2021

This has now been refused see below more details HERE

"Insufficient information has been submitted to demonstrate that the proposed change of use will not result in any significant impact upon neighbour amenity. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy DE1 & R6 of the Coventry Local Plan 2016, together with the aims of the NPPF."

A planning application for the former card shop in Earlsdon Street which closed earlier this year has been submitted for change of use into a “Craft beer & organic wine bar/lounge”. At present we have no details on who is involved in this new venture.

The planning statement in support of this application states.

  • No sale of hot food is proposed
  • The site is within a sustainable centre location and it is not expected that customers would arrive by car.
  • There will be only one delivery per week and this is to be agreed with the manager. Deliveries will be dropped at the main offices and then distributed (along with own brewed ales – off premises) to the pub via a small branded van. There will be no lorry deliveries.

We await the outcome of this application as over the past years so many other businesses have closed in Earlsdon Street.
